Welcome To RSPA Slo-Pitch ...
looking forward to a great 2012 slo-pitch season!

After the weirdest winter ever, some of the February-March days were better than the days we played in last May. So we eagerly await another slo-pitch season, looking forward to old friends, lots of fun, and lots of competition!

RSPA Slo-Pitch League is the largest league in the GTA and the largest coed league in Ontario! The 2011 season ended with a great series of playoffs, with 21 divisions and only 4 repeat winners (Hawks, Brickyard Big Mouths, Ruff Riders, Slackers) from last season. Hawks dominated the Comp division and new team Born Stars won the Int-1 division.

We have lots to look forward to in the 2012 season

	the always popular All-Star Night & Barbecue, on Friday, August 10 at Wildwood Park with a free barbecue and lots of contests;
	the Volleyball Night was a success last year and will return, scheduled for Friday, July 20 at Diamond Beach Sports Complex;
	We have a bunch of slo-pitch tournaments this year; all teams must enter one of the main tournaments -- May 5-6 & June 9-10 & July 14-15 & August 18-19, 2012; One of the 4 summer tournaments is mandatory for all league teams; All tournaments are SPN qualifiers and if your team plays any two tournaments, you can go to the Coed Provincial Championships in Niagara Falls; New date for the SPN Provincials changed to August 24-25-26. Make sure that your team plans early for the SPN Provincials - they are a great party!
	RSPA Bat Night, date TBA, at Diamond Beach Sports Complex; -- map ; with two-for-one batting cage and a bat demo on the diamonds; check out the new 2012 bats, with new bats on sale; NEW bat rules for 2012!
	RSPA Texas Hold 'em Poker Night, date TBA, at Diamond Beach Sports Complex; -- map ;
	And of course, the season ending finale, the Banquet & Awards Night, which nobody can deny, is the best party of the year! It is scheduled for THREE (3) dates - Saturday, October 13 & Saturday, October 20 & Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the same great location, Westwood Arena; we have added a third date - a great party for sure - a HALLOWEEN bash, with great prizes for best costume and best team costume;
	We will continue our quest to improve our league parks, and I will update the parks list and map when the information is available. League schedules will be out sooner this season and we offer set nights for most divisions, and ALL teams are expected to play at least two (2) Friday nights;
RSPA 2012 Calendar / Schedule:
	Tuesday, April 3, 2012, 7:00 pm -- The first 2011 RSPA League meeting for team reps is scheduled for Tuesday, April 5, 2011, 7:00 pm, at location TBA; Every team rep who attends the meeting will be given an RSPA or SPN t-shirt;
	Tuesday, May 1 -- Final team rep meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 1, drop-in style, anytime from 6:00 to 11:00 pm, at NEW LOCATION - The Irish Shebeen Pub, 5555 Eglinton Ave. W., Etobicoke ON M9C 5M1 -- map Every team rep who attends the meeting will be given an RSPA and/or SPN T-shirt (or maybe a new gift for 2012); Plus - team rep appreciation draw; one team rep will win a bat for team rep appreciation; Equipment will be available for sale at the meeting - bases, bats, extra balls, pitching mat, uniforms, etc. Equipment Order Form Confirm team entries; Deposit required. 	Exhibition games start Monday, April 23;
	Wednesday, May 2 -- The regular season starts Wednesday, May 2;
