Coldest winter in history but at least we can look forward to another slo-pitch season, looking forward to old friends, lots of fun, and lots of competition! The early-birds are already emailing me with questions, ideas and input on the coming season.
We amuse ourselves with the occasional sno-pitch tournament (yes - the die-hards do play in the snow!), January in Orangeville. And you don't need to buy ice for the cooler! And the new thing is dome tournaments, but it is not quite like the real thing.
RSPA is running two all-night dome tournaments, Saturday, February 3 and Saturday, February 24.

RSPA Slo-Pitch League is the largest coed league in Ontario with 190 teams in 26 divisions! The 2017 season ended with a great series of playoffs, with 26 divisions and only two repeat winners.

We have lots to look forward to in the 2018 season

• The always popular All-Star Night & Barbecue, has been moved to July, on Friday, July 20
  at Paul Coffey Park (formerly Wildwood Park).
  with a free barbecue and lots of contests.
• The Volleyball Night will be a Friday night in August at Diamond Beach Sports Complex.
• We have FIVE summer slo-pitch tournaments this year. All teams must enter one of the main tournaments
  -- May 5-6 & June 9-10 & July 7-8 & August 18-19 &September 22-23 2018
  One of the 5 summer tournaments is mandatory for all league teams.
• Also a last-chance fall ball tournament Saturday, November 3.
• All tournaments are SPN qualifiers and if your team plays any two tournaments, you can go to the Coed Provincial Championships in Niagara Falls. Make sure that your team plans early for the SPN Provincials - they are a great party!
• RSPA Texas Hold 'em Poker Night, date TBA, at Diamond Beach Sports Complex.
• And of course, the season ending finale, the Banquet & Awards Night,
  which nobody can deny, is the best party of the year!
  This year scheduled for FOUR (4) dates
  - Saturday, October 13 & Saturday, October 20, Saturday, October 27 and Saturday, November 3, 2018.
• We continue our quest to improve our league parks, and will update parks list and map when the information is available.
• League schedules will be out sooner this season and we offer set nights for ALL divisions,
  and ALL teams are expected to play at least two (2) Friday nights.

RSPA 2018 Calendar/Schedule:

• Tuesday, April 3, 2018, 6:00 pm
  The first 2018 RSPA League meeting for team reps is scheduled for Tuesday, April 3, 2018,
  drop-in style any time from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm, at Irish Shebeen Pub.
  Every team rep who attends the meeting will be given an RSPA and/or SPN T-shirt (and a new gift for 2018).
  Plus - team rep appreciation draw — one team rep will win a bat for team rep appreciation.
  Equipment will be available for sale at the meeting — Equipment Order Form
  - bases, bats, extra balls, pitching mat, uniforms, etc.
  Confirm team entries; Deposit required.

• Tuesday, May 1 —
  Final team rep meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 1, drop-in style, anytime from 6:00 to 11:00 pm, at Irish Shebeen Pub.
• Monday, April 23 — Exhibition games start.
• Wednesday, May 2 — The regular season starts Wednesday, May 2, 2018.
