RSPA Slo-Pitch League is the biggest league in Mississauga/Toronto and the largest coed league in Ontario! The 2007 season ended with a great series of playoffs, with only one (Team Fielding) repeat winner. Game Over came back to win the Comp division title from Cardinals/Red Sox who upset everybody last year; Clippers led the league for the whole season, but folded like a house of cards in the wind during the playoffs; Raging Storm finally showed the level of talent that they always thought they had (we'll see how they do in Comp this season); Old teams Not All There, Team Fielding, Balls Deep and Kelron won their respective divisions; Moose Knuckles and Ipex Blue Brutes tied for the championship in Int-6 (don't even ask about that one); Pirates won Int-7; new teams Lakeport Pilseners, Skidmarks and Spartans all won their divisions; and returning teams Swingers, Motorola and BDO BallBreakers won the Rec divisions;
We have lots to look forward to in the 2008 season
| the always popular All-Star Night & Barbecue, on Friday, August 8 back at Wildwood Park with a free barbecue and lots of contests; |

| the Volleyball Night was a success last year and will return, scheduled for Friday, July 11 at Diamond Beach Sports Complex; |
|
| We have a bunch of slo-pitch tournaments this year; all teams must enter one of the three main tournaments -- June 7-8, July 26-27 and/or August 9-10, 2008;
One of these tournaments is mandatory for all league teams;
We are also offering two early-bird tournaments, to get your team in playing shape; Saturday (one day), March 22 and Saturday-Sunday, April 19-20; both at Diamond Beach; these two tournaments do not count toward your mandatory league tournament, but are SPN qualifiers and if your team plays one of these and one of the RSPA tournaments, you can go to the Coed Provincial Championships in Niagara Falls; Make sure that your team plans early for the SPN Provincials - they are a great party! |

| And of course, the season ending finale, the Banquet & Awards Night, which nobody can deny, is the best party of the year!
it is already scheduled for the two dates - Saturday, October 18 and Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the same great location, Westwood Arena; |

| We will continue our quest to improve our league parks, and I will update the parks list and map when the information is available.
League schedules will be out sooner this season and we are offering set nights for certain divisions, and ALL teams are now expected to play at least two (2) Friday nights;

The first 2008 RSPA League meeting for team reps is scheduled for Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 7:00 pm, at NEW LOCATION - Brickyard Bar & BBQ; 95 The East Mall, Etobicoke - see map (north-east corner at North Queen, one block north of the Queensway, just east of 427) Every team rep who attends the meeting will be given an RSPA t-shirt; Tuesday, May 6 -- Final team rep meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, drop-in style, anytime from 6:00 to 11:00 pm, at St. Louis Bar & Grill, 557 Dixon Road, Etobicoke; map |
